Turkey (Istanbul) trainings:

In August 06, we started the training of 15 Journalists lives in Istanbul. The trainings which focuses on Investigative reporting and managed by Syrian Journalism Investigative Unit at Accuracy press Institute will is an extensive training for five days.

Comments and suggestions:

We did find a gap in the level of the trainees in Syria and Turkey. Journalists in Turkey where more experienced, and committed to the trainings because they had much more trainings during the last few years.

Women are not well presented in media field. For example, we offered 70% seats for women in Gaziantep and Istanbul trainings, but we were able only to get 12 in Gaziantep 5 in Istanbul.

We did find that Syrian journalists still need extra trainings in the fallowing subjects (Code of Ethics, fact checking, Peace-building, Civic education, and conflict reporting.

The trainees ask for some days off their weekends. Therefore, some trainings schedules has changed. API will conduct the final training in Gaziantep in August 11-12.
