Accuracy Press Institute (API), in partnership with Violet Organization and DCRN, conducted a specialized training program on “Verification from Open Sources.”
The training aimed to equip participants with the practical skills and tools necessary to verify information accurately and professionally in an increasingly complex media environment.
Led by trainer Zaid Mastou, the program focused on:
- The role of journalism in society
- Principles of news verification
- Practical application of open-source verification tools
Participants engaged in applied exercises designed to strengthen their ability to assess the credibility of sources, verify digital content, and navigate misinformation challenges.
This initiative forms part of API’s broader efforts to enhance professional standards in Syrian media and promote responsible reporting based on accuracy, transparency, and ethical practice.
